Lambodaram Vishaalaaxam Vande Ham Gananaayakam
Salutations to the God who is the leader of Ganas,Who has only one tusk, Who has a very big body, Who looks like molten gold, Who has a very big paunch, And has very broad eyes.
Trimukha Ganapati is regarded as the 28th among the 32 different forms of Ganapati. The term ‘Trimukha’ is a combination of two words, ‘Tri,’ indicating the number three and ‘Mukha,’ meaning face. Trimukha Ganapati is thus the three-faced Lord,
This three-headed form represents the three states of being called the Gunas (Qualities and Attributes). They are Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Sattva is the mode of Goodness and Equilibrium, Rajas denotes Passion, Effort and Action or activity and Tamas depicts Ignorance, Lack of Action or Inertia. In its purest state, the mind is pure Sattva and the two sources of mental disturbances are Rajas (Excess activity) and Tamas (Inactivity).
